Kumud Sood, R.D. is the research center dietitian. She has a Masters degree in Food and Nutrition, and has over 26 years of clinical experience. Kumud provides individualized counseling with the goal of making healthy lifestyle changes.

RESEARCH STUDY COORDINATOR

Amina Musa successfully graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2023, earning a degree in Biology and a minor in Social Welfare. Through her undergraduate career, she displayed a strong commitment towards research, particularly focusing on marginalized communities and social determinants of health. She aspires to be a catalyst for change, working towards a more inclusive healthcare system that addresses the needs of marginalized communities which includes the disproportionate impact of diabetes. By actively engaging with research staff and physicians, she hopes to meet the objectives of the trial, and help provide personalized care to each patient while understanding the underlying mechanism.

RESEARCH STUDY COORDINATOR

Dianne Velasquez graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2023, with a degree in Biological Sciences and a focus in Physiology and Neurobiology. Her undergraduate research involved the genetics of Drosophilia. She is particularly interested in the field of clinical research, which she sees as a way to make a difference in the lives of others.
